DUTIES: Will report to the Manager of R&D and will be responsible for supporting our platform and product development with skilled and innovative firmware engineering. They will work closely with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers to provide core operational and communication firmware. Applications will range from simple data acquisition to wireless remote networking.

REQUIREMENTS: MUST HAVE A BS degree in Electrical Engineering; Computer Engineering or Computer Science with a Master degree a plus. MUST HAVE a minimum of 2-3 years experience programming in “C” (Assembly language, C++ a plus) along with 2-3 years experience developing embedded applications on various 8 & 16 bit microprocessors such as PIC, AVR, TMS430 or ARM. Would also like to see experience with RTOS, analog signaling and wireless and wired networking protocols (802.3; TCP/IP; 802.15.4 or Proprietary ISM). They should have a good understanding of the different layers of the communication stacks. Are also looking for practical experience with structured GUI, especially XML as well as Visual Basic or Visual C/C++.

This engineer will also be adept with engineering tools such as; debuggers, emulators, version control, compilers/assemblers, logic analyzers, DMM’s and oscilloscopes. In addition they will be accomplished at developing firmware requirements, design and design verification documentation. This person will be a hands-on engineer – someone that likes to “tinker”. They will be a self starter and will like what they are doing - have a very positive attitude and a high energy level.
